Passive Fire Protection Coatings

Passive Fire Protection (PFP) coatings are specialized materials applied to structural steel, concrete, wood, and other building components to slow the spread of fire and protect structures from high temperatures. Unlike active fire protection systems (such as sprinklers or fire extinguishers), PFP coatings do not require activation by people or mechanical systems—they work automatically when exposed to heat.
